Cordaid supports 24 young community leaders in different parts of Iraq – Erbil, Kirkuk and Ninawa. Parts that were deeply affected by ISIS brutalities and the ensuing military operations. 6 of these courageous young agents of change share their story.

In their communities, they help younger generations to deal with everyday challenges and insecurity. Like gender-based violence, drug addiction, and youth unemployment. They build pockets of trust and cohesion in environments that are still – two years after the military defeat of ISIS – very much ruled by fear, distrust and a depressing lack of opportunities.
